What makes a good hint
Machine-translated — the English version is authoritative.
The strongest hints are personal — not dictionary words. Automated recovery already tries millions of common words with every number and symbol; what usually unlocks a wallet is something that meant something to you.
Think back to around when you set up the wallet:
- Names of people close to you then — a partner, family, or children (and their birth years).
- Pets, including old or childhood ones.
- Places — a street, neighbourhood, or town you lived in.
- Nicknames, terms of endearment, or inside jokes.
- Bands, artists, teams, or hobbies you were into then.
- Other passwords you reused around that time — even similar-looking ones.
About the numbers and symbols
- A number usually means something — a birth year, an anniversary, a lucky number. Say which if you can.
- Where does the number sit — at the end (word2016!), in the middle (name84surname), or the start?
- Capitalisation — first letter capital, ALL CAPS, or none?
Even a fragment helps — "it began with my dog's name" or "a two-digit number, but not 01".
